2K13!!!

Alright it's 2013! And it's time to get on track. Sometimes, you know, you just get off track for a while. What do you do then? Do you give up? HA. Not a man. A man doesn't care how far he falls if he falls, doesn't care how quickly he falls off the "wagon" if he does, and doesn't care what people think when he comes back over six months later to get things going again. SO!

I hope you're all doing fantastic, and are super excited about the 365 new days of OPPORTUNITY that have just arrived, right in front of us for the taking.

I'm getting back to work on the ebook TONIGHT, and I'm not going to obsess with outlining. I'm just going to jump right in and WRITE. That's one thing I learned from attempting NaNoWriMo this past November (look it up if you don't know what that is): you just have to WRITE, or nothing will ever get done. Can't over-obsess about quality at the beginning. That's what revision is for.

Alright, men, (and women, if any of you are reading this), MANASTE!!! (the man in me sees the man in you)

Getting Started

Last night I just started brainstorming in concrete, written form the ideas to go into my ebook.  I even did some rough outlining.

It's really interesting because in some areas, I have so much to say that the main challenge is going to be organization and clarity.  On the other hand, some other areas are so basic...that is, not that I don't have plenty to say about them...but the "fixes" are so simple yet unknown, that they may prove more challenging to write about from enough different perspectives to get the point across to a variety of readers.

Another issue is a lot of overlap between sections.  The specific things I'm writing about are all so interconnected and rooted in the same deep-level confidence men can have when they are at their full potential, that I'm either going to have to make difficult choices in limiting where I talk about certain things in the ebook, or I am going to have to accept the fact that repetition might be appropriate.  After all, we don't tend to memorize new information until we've come across it a number of times, or at least rehearsed it mentally a number of times.

We'll see what the rest of today brings (I've gotta sleep before work tonight at some point, actually), but then I'll have more time this "weekend" (weekends for me right now are Wednesday through Friday...although I will be working overtime this week, too...)

All right, I'll keep on keeping you up to date on the project!

Introducing...!

Hi, I'm Dork Doctor Dan, Dr. Dan for short, and I'm a recovering dork who has learned a few things I want to pass on to other guys to help them build confidence and reach their potential as men!

I'm starting a new writing project--what will be a Kindle ebook--that will be packed with tons of information, exercises, tips, and other practical help for guys who are looking to grow in confidence in every area of their life, from social life and dating, to career, to fashion, and fitness.

On this new blog of mine, I will be giving regular updates on the writing process, and sometimes other things...random things I'm thinking about, stories of things I've been trying lately in my own life, etc.

I also have an email newsletter you can sign up for by emailing me at dorkdoctordan@hotmail.com and asking to be included on the mailing list, or just putting "newsletter" in the subject line.
